I believe everyone is already aware about recent flood in Pakistan. According to UN, around 14 million people have affected by this flood. According to NDMA, 1384 peoples have died and more than 72 thousands home destroyed.
The destruction is more than our imagination. Unfortunately, two of our friends are belong to Kot Addu, city of Muzaffargarh District in the Punjab province, most affected area in Punjab. They told us that almost all houses have been destroyed. Crops on more than 424 acresies have been vanished. They have lost each and everything. They do not only need immediate aid in form of clean water, food, tents and medicine but a long term plan for rehabilitation is also required. There are number of NGOs and people are working for relief of flood affected people. But we all know that most of these efforts are for immediate relief.
I and my teacher Mr. Khalid Khan decided to do something for these people, but not only as for immediate relief but a long term relief plan in order restate them back to pre-flood position. We decided to select an area, even small area, but don’t let them alone for at least one year. We divided our efforts into three phases:
1. Immediate relief: The objective of this is to provide immediate relief in current situation which includes providing tents, medicine, foods, clothes and other necessities of life.
2. Short term relief: The objective of this is to help them to celebrate Eid with bit relief. I can't use word "Happy"... because nobody has rights to play with their emotions by using such words!
3. Long Term relief: As they lost their homes, craft, savings... each and everything. Leaving them in this condition will create disaster impact not only for them but for their upcoming generation as well. We are planning to give them loan or aid in order to restate their life into pre-flood condition.
As this stage, stage of immediate relief, we are targeting around 50 - 100 families and we need at least 1 Million rupees or around 12000 US$.
I am looking from my family, community and friends, especially overseas Pakistanis, to help us in this critical condition. Don’t think your contribution is so small because it still matters for us. We are looking for:
1 person who can donate only 1 million rupee
or 10 people who can donate only Rs. 100K each
or 100 people who can donate only Rs. 10,000/- each
or 1000 people who can donate only Rs. 1,000/- each
or 10000 people who can donate only Rs. 100/- each
Can’t you? Please contact, if you can donate even a single penny!
