Why people follow?

Someone just shared a very interesting TED video with me. Personally, I am great fan of TED videos and again this video proved a remarkable work done by someone. Usually, we need to wait for long times to hear about such great thoughts but these videos enable us to access such great material by just a click.

Meanwhile, as Karachi is up for Imran Khan's show. I believe this video can be served as why people are following him in such huge numbers. Although, the same can be applied for other leaders as well!

Best of Jawwad Farid

All those who want to be an entrepreneur must read about Jawwad Farid . I don't want to introduce him here (interested people can follow the link). I met him in 2008 and soon left my 9 to 6 job to start some venture... although I am still in progress and my recent meeting with him gave me another boost.

Here I want to share his best with you guys. You can find his best talk here http://startup.riskreviews.net/the-best-of-jawwad-farid/

Our right to know

This is a must read article Our right to know
Following is the extract from the same article:
On Sept.12, 2009, under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Ordinance 2002, I requested the Ministry of Information Islamabad to provide names of all parliamentarians, Ministers and Senators who hold nationality, passport, green card or permanent residence for any other country, besides Pakistan. When no response was received for four months, the Wafaqi Mohtasib was approached to order the Interior Ministry to do what they ought to have done in 21 days. On the intervention of Wafaqi Mohtasib (letter HQR/0000854/10 dated 27-01-2010) the Ministry of Information sent an interesting response (Letter 3/2/2009-citz dated Feb.11, 2010) stating that “this subject does not relate to the Ministry of Interior and falls within the domain of Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.” This bureaucratic technique of not providing the information may also called ‘denial through deflection’.

Kristie Yung & Alamgir - Keh Dena

A lovely song by Canadian singer Kristie Yung with Alamgir... personally I am not die hard fan of Alamgir but this song really amazed me! fantastic poetry, composition and music!

[Urdu]

Tips on resume writing

Being an inter-mediator between Industry and Academia! yes! people at Academia still believe I represent industry and similarly people from industry contact me to get good resources and consultancy, I have to go through number of resumes of students and circulate them for open positions. But usually I need to send back resumes to student due to low quality of their resumes. Fortunately, today I came across a very good post at Microsoft JobBlog describing how to write a good resume. Precisely, they mentioned that what kind of resume they are looking from students but it also apply for other organizations as well.

I recommend all students (even experienced people as well) to review this document before sending their resumes to anywhere.

Facebook Opportunity!!!

Guys... back here after a long time... where I have been? I think answer of this question need a very long post! Probably its not good time to back as I lost my partition on disk and some very critical data is still on this. So, I am waiting and praying that recovery software do something .. but its taking too much time! so its time to write a post!

Well well... Jehan Ara posted a tweet which leads me at Hammad Siddiqui's blog. Hammad is pointing out clearly that most of us use facebook as just entertainment tool but we are completely neglecting the fact that this tool can be use as opportunity as well. I believe his post is worthy to read. You can read this post at http://hammadsiddiqui.blogspot.com/2011/05/untapped-facebook-opportunity-in.html
